Speculative Fiction Junkie

Reviews of works of science fiction, fantasy, horror, weird fiction, and related genres.

You can contact me at specficjunkie[at]mbsmail.net (be sure to replace the "[at]" with "@")

Speculative Fiction Junkie accepts books for review that meet the following guidelines:

  1. The book is a work of speculative fiction. That is, it is science fiction, fantasy, horror, non-traditional mystery, or a related genre. Feel free to send an email inquiry if you're not sure about whether a particular book satisfies this requirement.

  2. The book is an actual book. This means that it is paper rather than in electronic form and that it is bound in some fashion. Having said this, when I'm not sure whether or not a particular book will be my cup of tea, or when I'm just overwhelmed with books to read (as is often the case), I may often ask you to just send an electronic excerpt, which I can then follow up on if it seems like a good fit.
Other Considerations:
  1. Speculative Fiction Junkie writes honest reviews. As such, negative things may be said about any book you submit. Just look at some of the more negative reviews on this site to get a sense for the sort of things I say, both positive and negative.

  2. Your book may or may not be reviewed. Just because you mail a book to us doesn't mean that we will review it. There are many reasons why a particular book might not get reviewed. Having said that, there are certain books that we can guarantee will be reviewed. Feel free to submit an email inquiry as to whether a particular book you've mailed us will be reviewed.

Also, I AM CURRENTLY DROWNING IN BOOKS and am this close to not accepting review copies for the foreseeable future, so don't take it personally if I decline to review a particular book.

Email inquiries regarding any of the above, where to send review copies, or anything else can be mailed to specficjunkie[at]mbsmail.net (replace the [at] with @).

Thanks for visiting!
